Nirma, which has now become a household name was actually started by Karsanbhai Patel in the late 1960s to immortalize his daughter Nirupama whom he lost in a tragic car accident. In fact, The love he had for his daughter, was now reflected in his business that he started in his backyard in Gujarat.
Sanjay has now launched his own sector-agnostic Venture Capital firm called 100x.VC aiming to invest in over 100 startups in a year, 25 each quarter across a broad range of industries. The company, headquartered in Mumbai aims to be the first institutional investor in its portfolio companies and go beyond mere funding of a startup.
Coming from a humbling background, Mark always had a knack for making money which is demonstrated through the fact that he started selling garbage bags at the age of 12 when he wanted to buy a pair of basketball shoes. Later on, he skipped his senior year at high school and instead enrolled full time at the University of Pittsburgh and later at Indiana University's Kelley School of Business in 1981 with a Bachelor of Science degree in Management.
